Quentin Tarantino přirovnal Noční hlídku ruského režiséra Timura Bekmambetova ke stejně přelomovému snímku, jakým byla trilogie Pán prstenů. I díky tomuto „doporučení“ dostal jeden z nejtalentovanějších režisérů současnosti příležitost natočit svůj první hollywoodský velkofilm. A Timur do toho šlápl ve velkém stylu, když se ujal režie adaptace drsného akčního komiksu Wanted, v němž před kamerou dirigoval hvězdy svítivosti Jamese McAvoye, Angeliny Jolie a Morgana Freemana.
